1. Origins

About a year ago, someone asked me to remake an old anti-spam plugin. He had used this old plugin for some time.

This plugin wasn't well known, but it didn't bother real people and was deadly effective. Problem was, like many plugins of that era, it wasn't very user-friendly.

So, I remade it user-friendly, also with a way to notify the admin of blocked attacks, and it was hammering spam like crazy.

2. Here's How It Works

Here's how it works: it's humanly impossible to fill out a standard vBulletin registration form in less than 25 seconds, and this mod hammers those spambots with a standard error.

When a spammer is caught, as said before, you have the option to receive a report by email so you can see the hammer in action.

3. Install

Navigate to AdminCP > Plugins & Products > Product Manager and import the product-spam_hammer Xml -- that's it.
