Feature List:
Edit Thread Title.
Members who start a thread may edit the thread title by editing the first post and selecting the 'More options...' button.
Edit Thread Prefix . Members who start a thread may edit the thread prefix by editing the first post and selecting the 'More options...' button.
Add Poll to existing thread.
Members who start a thread may add a poll to the thread by editing the first post and selecting the 'More options...' button.
Optional Time Limit . You may set a time limit for the above options.
Lock / Unlock own thread . Members who start a thread may lock/unlock the thread by editing the first post and selecting the 'More options...' button. However, they may not unlock threads that were locked by an administrator or a moderator.
User Name Change . Members may change their user name X amount of times by selecting the 'Change User Name' link on their Account page. Option to display previous names via a tab on the member's profile page.
Names changed via the ACP may also be displayed on this tab.
User Action Log.
Deletion of posts, changing usernames, editing post messages (with optional grace period time limit), editing thread titles and thread prefixes, are logged and displayed via a user log in the Admin Control Panel (ACP).
Display a 'Last edited by' note.
This option displays at the bottom of each edited post message.
Edit Reason.
Users may provide a reason for their edits.
Post Edit History with the ability to compare posts.
Each edited post has a list of previous edits.
Clicking on one of the edit information links opens the pre-edited version of that post in an overlay. You may also compare edits via an overlay.
This add-on does not alter the XenForo xf_post or xf_thread MySQL tables, which means it can easily be installed on large boards.
Installation:
1. Upload the contents of the 'Upload/js' folder to the 'js' folder on your server
2. Upload the contents of the 'Upload/library' folder to the 'library' folder on your server
3. There are two (2) template edits that need doing. If you have TMS installed, then this will be automatically done for you when you install the add-on in the next step.
Otherwise, open the 'Template Edits' folder and locate the 'post_edit' and 'post_edit_inline' text files. In the ACP, overwrite these templates with the ones provided. If a template was previously modified, simply add the commented bold text from the template provided to your existing modified one.
4. Import the addon-UserEss_109.xml file
5. There are seven (7) user group permissions that you may set.
6. Assign desired usergroup the ' Can change own user name' permission
7. Assign desired usergroup the ' Lock / Unlock own thread' permission. This permission depends on the ' Edit post by self' permission. If 'Edit post by self' is not allowed, neither will 'Lock/Unlock' even if it is set to
Allow.
8. Assign desired usergroup the ' Edit own thread title' permission.
This permission is overridden by the ' Edit post by anyone' permission
9. Assign desired usergroup the 'Time limit on editing own thread title (minutes)' permission - default is unlimited
10. Assign desired usergroup the 'Add poll to own existing thread' permission. This permission is overridden by the 'Edit post by anyone' permission
11. Assign desired usergroup the 'Time limit on adding poll to own existing thread (minutes)' permission - default is unlimited
12. Assign desired usergroup the ' Edit Post Log Grace Period' permission - default is 5 minutes
13. Locate the add-on permission page located in the 'Home/Options' section of the admin control panel. The add-on is named ' User Essentials'. Here you may set some general permissions.
14. You are done. You may view the log with all the user actions by going to the 'Tools/Logs/User Log' section of the
admin control panel.
