As most of us know a vulnerability in Install directory recently found in vBulletin community software, there are thousands of vBulletin powered sites got hacked and hackers manage to get access of AdminCP as well as control panel to inject malicious content. The worst case is during initial days when a forum gets hacked, hackers create admin accounts and that's actually the stage where cleanup is required to fence off the hackers and enhance security but majority of forum owners don't even get to know they actually got hacked until Google puts a veil on the forums with malware warning page. Removing the install directory now (as that's the main source of hacking attempt) won't help because it's already been too late and thorough check and cleanup is needed.


- What This Script Does ?
This script will scan forum templates, plugins, phrases, announcements and forums section to detect any infected items to identify if your forum is hacked and needs cleanup.

- How to Upload:
1. Upload SEOvB_Hack_Checker.php in root of forum files on server (Within public_html if forum is installed on root, upload in any other directory if forum is installed on /public_html/exampledirectory)

- How to Access the Script:
1. Point your browser's address bar to open www.YOURFORUMURL.com/forum/SEOvB_Hack_Checker.php (Case sensitive and suppose if forum is installed into /forum/ directory on server.)

1. None.

- Database Changes
1. None.

- Setup Instructions
1. No setup is needed.

- What does it do?
1. It detects any malicious code injections hidden in your forum. If says 'Warning', your forum is hacked and cleanup is needed to not get more damages. If says 'All Clear', cleanup is not required and your forum is not hacked.

- Purpose?
1. If forum is hacked or not.

- Requirements
1. Should work on all vBulletin versions of 4.x.x

1. Delete SEOvB_Hack_Checker.php file from root of forum files.

- FAQs

- After I remove malicious items from my forum, what this script will do ?
It will say 'All Clear' for the cleared items.

- Some of the items are coming with 'All Clear' except 1, what does it mean ?
Your forum requires cleanup.

- Will it tell me which items are containing warning ?
Yes, it will. It will let you know, if templates are infected, with the template name and last modified by whom.
